Obituary of Kristina Daunoravicius

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our youngest sister, Kristina Daunoravicius on Tuesday June 27, 2023 of esophageal cancer at the age of 57 in St. Catharines, Ontario. Missing her already are her siblings; Maryte, John, Isabel, Joe, Irene and Peter.

Kris was an avid wordsmith, loved being outdoors enjoying activities such as boating and walks in nature. As long as she wasn't shopping which she hated. Kris served on the Mayor's Advisory Commitee on Accessibly for many years. She also completed numerous online courses, on various subjects and took part in the Imagine the Possibilities workshops, based in Toronto. Her wry, witty sense of humor will be missed by all those who knew her.

In keeping with Kristina's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. To honor her memory please have a few drinks around a campfire while listening to Springsteen or Elton John.

My condolences to the family of Kristina. I only knew her when she was a child. Her family cottage was next door to ours in Palanga. May she rest in peace. Hugs from Milda Markauskas

I’ve known Kris for over 40 years. Except for the few years in Montreal we never lived on the same side of the continent let alone the same city. As many others have said it was Kris’s sense of humour that was central. I loved that she got my jokes. I will miss her immensely and wish we could have been closer so I could have visited. I never did convince her to come visit in BC. Alas . . .

I will miss Kris and her sense of humour. She definitely had away with her words, and was always making people laugh. I have so many fond memories of her and I at Geneva Park. I send my condolences , so much love to your family.

So sorry to the Daunoravicious family. Irene, I know Kris would have loved being at Lac Sylvere this past week which had a special place in her heart as it does mine. We definitely had a few drinks around the campfire for her. All the best.

I have so many fond memories of Kris and her smile and laughter. I would purposefully say things that I knew would shock her and get her laughing and bantering. I’m so sorry that we will not hear her sense of humour again. May you rest in peace, Kris. I feel blessed to have known you.
