Obituary of Kolleen Jeannette Pocknell
On Saturday January 27th, our family sadly said our final goodbyes to Kolleen Jeannette Pocknell, having just turned 57 years old. We are thanking God these days, that Kolleen is free from pain, free from a horrible disease, free from disappointments and multiple recent health challenges and YES, free from a wheelchair. Despite her amazing ability to smile here on earth, we can’t even begin to imagine the smile on her face now that she is in a WAY better place! ❤️Kolleen will be fondly remembered by her family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her as a child, a teenager and later as an adult who bravely faced health challenges for much of life as a result of a rare degenerative disease.
The youngest of the family, Kolleen will be remembered and forever loved by her Father, Charles Pocknell (predeceased Christine Pocknell) and her Step-Father, Kenneth Bailey (predeceased is her Mother, Patricia Bailey). Her last living sibling is Cindy Gibson (Terry). Her big brother Daniel Pocknell (predeceased) (Paddy Saari) was one of her biggest cheerleaders in life and also predeceased by her older sister, infant Catherine Pocknell. Kolleen loved her nieces and nephews, Crystal and her children, Alana & Destiny AND Jonathan (Danielle) and their children, Kennedy, Wellington & Connolly AND Sarah (Thomas) and their children, Addison, TJ & Sophia. Kolleen will also be remembered by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Beyond this, Kolleen will be fondly remembered by her friends and staff at Oakwood Park Lodge where she has resided since 2017.
Of special note, is extreme gratefulness to Lou-Anne Rochat, Director of Care at OPL, who has repeatedly gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide the best experience for Kolleen at the Nursing Home, along with many staff members, doctors and administration.
A Celebration of Kolleen’s Life will take place on Wednesday January 31st, with Visitation at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon, all at Queensway Free Methodist Church, 4397 Dorchester Road, Niagara Falls, ON. A pending interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, also in Niagara Falls.
