Obituary of Maria "Mary" Kiss
Peacefully in her home, Mary passed away with her family by her side, on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the age of 91. Mary has been reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Alexander "Sandor". Loving mother of Sarah-Jane and proud Grandma of Victoria (Steven Petchey). Dear sister of Peter (Pearl) of Florida, and Ilona (Zoli) of Hungary.
Born and raised in Hungary, Sandor and Mary were wed, and decided they wanted to move to Canada to build their life together. Some of their journey was done by foot through a few European countries and eventually they made it to Canada in 1958. Once they arrived, they settled in Niagara-on-the-Lake and built their own family home.
Mary will be remembered for her strong-willed personality and for always being a classy lady. When she was not with her family, you would always find her planting and maintaining her flowers all the time, as she loved gardening. Another favourite pastime of Mary's was painting. Throughout all the years she had completed numerous portraits, which are enjoyed and cherished to this day.
In the past, Mary had been a member of the local Kinettes Club, where she met friends and enjoyed years of fellowship and service to her local community. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A special thank you to Mary's care team through ParaMed, SE Health and VON for their support in her final days. In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. Online condolences may be shared on Mary's tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.
There are no upcoming public services scheduled or the service has occurred in the past.
