Obituary of Kevin Nickerson

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Kevin passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital at the age of 72. Kevin will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of more than 51 years, Liz. He was a devoted and loving father to James (Sue) and Lara, and a proud Papa who cherished his grandchildren dearly, Kayla, Kody, and Amy.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kevin always held a deep appreciation and love for the East Coast. He spent much time in Toronto, where he built both his career and raised his family. Kevin dedicated his professional life to the field of electronics and technology, and had a skill set that reflected his dedication, precision, and expertise. Self-employed, he took great pride in his work and was honoured to take on meaningful projects for special clients. His talents, strong work ethic, and commitment to an excellent standard was evident in all the work he did.

At one point in his life, Kevin lived in Bracebridge, where he proudly served as a volunteer firefighter. During that time, he also contributed to a piece of local history by helping rebuild the motor of the Seguin steamship, a project he was particularly proud to be part of.

Family meant everything to Kevin. He was deeply devoted to caring for his loved ones, and especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Welland Hospital for their wonderful care and support.

In accordance with Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held in the summertime with family and friends.
