Obituary of Kevin Arthur McLoughlin

With the love of his family surrounding him, Kevin passed peacefully at his home on July 13, 2022 at the age of 75. Devoted husband and best friend of 40 years to Catherine (nee Hamilton). Loving father to Jason (Sarah), Justin (Clair) and Kevin Jr. (Candice). Cherished Pops to his grandchildren Malina, Taya and Quinn. Much loved brother-in-law to Linda Hamilton (James van Dillen) and Billy (Sharon) Hamilton. Dear uncle to Kristy and Kimberley. Kevin will also be fondly remembered by his best friend Mickey.

Kevin was born in England in 1947, and immigrated to Canada in his early 20s. After settling in Ontario, Kevin spent time working for General Motors and Ontario Hydro. He finished out his career working at George Brown College, where he taught Mechanical Technology. Kevin was passionate about sports; he played golf and soccer and at one point even played semi-pro Rugby in England. He was an avid fan of the Liverpool Football Club and the Toronto Blue Jays. His love for sports was passed on to his children, and whether he was behind the bench coaching or in the stands showing his support, he was always there for them. During his retirement, Kevin could often be found in the workshop in his garage, enjoying a daily coffee with Mickey, travelling to Florida with Catherine, or helping a friend in need. Kevin will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, his compassion toward others, his kind smile, and above all else, for his love of his family.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who helped and supported them over the last few years.

In keeping with Kevin's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Kevin's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. Memorial donations may be made to Juravinski Cancer Centre.
