In Loving Memory of

Kathleen Ann Keddy

1968-2021

Obituary of Kathleen Ann Keddy

It is with broken hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved and strong mother, on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the NHS - St. Catharines Site, at the age of 53.

Cherished mother of Chris (Kate), Markie (Rick), Shannon (Adam), and adoring grandmother of Eloise Keddy. Kathleen will be greatly missed by her loving partner Gary Aubertin. Dear sister of Tom (Cathy), John (Sarah), Mary, Debbie (Teddy) and sister-in-law Joann. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Tim and Helen, and brothers Tim and Gary.

Kathleen loved being a mom to everyone, including to her kitty Oscar. It was in her nature to be caring, in charge and maybe sometimes a little sassy. Her favourite hobbies were centered around creativity. As a talented artist, she enjoyed crafts, decor and design. We remember that her favourite holiday was Christmas and that despite the season, she would happily wear her Christmas themed pjs all year round. Kathleen also had an interest in alien, crime and murder mystery programs, but she would find her peak enjoyment drinking her triple-triple coffee from Timmies.

A special thank you to nurse Andrea "Andi" from the 3B Oncology Unit at the St. Catharines Hospital, for taking exceptional care of our mom from the very beginning to the end.

In accordance with Kathleen's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A Celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at a later date, when restrictions have been lifted and family and friends can safely gather together.

As an expression of sympathy, a GoFundMe page has been created for memorial donations to be given for Kathleen's granddaughter; Eloise's education fund. Please see the link to the GoFundMe page under the donation tab.

It was very sad to hear the news of Kathy’s passing.
She was a very talented and dedicated worker, who would do anything asked of her.
Kathy loved her family and was so proud of her granddaughter and enjoyed bringing her to various SCCN events.
She will truly be missed by everyone she touched.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share that my little sister Kathy is finally free of the pain and allowed to stop the heroic and stoic fight that has engulfed her last years….
Kathy passed at 6:25am February 20, 2021
In my arms, and with Deb holding your hands, you left us.
I know you tried to do it alone so as not leave pain on anyone…
but, it was not pain, it was the pleasure of you and knowing you that somehow allowed us to be there…
Thank you
Sister, we shared so many moments that no one else will understand… We laughed at inside jokes, have our own catch phrases, and understood each other’s joy and pain. I cannot imagine anyone who would make a better best friend than you!
I am so happy that you are my little sister!
Sisters help make the hard times easier, and the easier times more fun!
You are my favourite angel, sister, because you fill my life with the light of a billion suns!
Outsiders will never actually know the amazing bomb that is you! Great words are said, but never really understood. You are amazing! Period! So proud, so entitled, so overwhelmed to be in your circle!
Love you always!

Its been years since I last saw you and that infectious laugh and your contagious smile. The Keddy women befriended me during the worst part of my life. My boys and I survived abuse and I had no friends. They uplifed my soul and encouraged me to overcome and i built confidence and in no time they all were my sisters.
Kathy always said it took a village to raise a child. She helped me with Nick. Chris and nick became inseparable. I miss thise summer nights hanging out on her front porch drinking coffee or having a mikes lemonade, the banter that ensued warmed my heart. I would kiss her on the cheek and let her know how grateful i was to be included and adoed our friendship. They included me in just about every family function. Experience my first girls not out with 6 of the most loving woman i had ever met. Kathy was an incredibly loving generous human being. She had a way of making me feel I had value and I was safe. I will miss you and I will treasure my memories of you the rest of my life.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family. Having just lost my own mother on Sunday, Feb. 14th-, I can only say how great a void losing a mother, parent, companion, eaves us with. What a wonderful woman although I knew her little having just started at SCCN. As she continues on her life journey as a soul, I am sure she will continue to watch over all of you and share with you all of the beautiful moments, she always has, plus more- be it not in physical form. It is a huge loss, to your family and I am so sorry fir whatever grief and pain you are feeling. The void, emptiness, sorrow- I believe will fade with time but her memory and her presence will forever surround you in the utmost creative and beautiful energy.
My deepest- Anita Menotti

Kathy brought so many things to my life in the 10 years we worked and knew each other. On a business side I was her manager which at times was funny….”kathy can you do this for me”….well I will do it but not that way she would say LOL! And yes 9 out of 10 times her way was better! out of our business relationship came a true friendship. It was built on respect, laughter, and a genuine caring for each other! Over the 10 years we saw each other through good and certainly challenging times….and now there is a huge void in my life. Kathy we all will miss you so much, and for me you will forever be my dear friend

I’m so sorry to Kathy’s family and friends for an incredible loss. I have so much admiration for her strength. She continued working through all this as long as she could and most people didn’t even realize she was sick. I don’t think their is anyone at work who won’t be missing her. I’m so glad to have had her in my life even if it was a short time.

What an amazing woman she must have been, to have raised a daughter like Markie. Losing your mom is a painful thing. Please reach out to your many understudy moms, who are here with open arms. Ps I have said a prayer to my mom and to Max to be on the lookout for a beautiful, crafty, fun-loving soul in Christmas Pajamas. I bet they’re dancing in heaven. ❤️
