Obituary of Karen Ann Bailey

Karen passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Dear mother of her daughter Samantha and her partner Sam. Proud grandmother of Sophia and Sage; they were her life’s biggest blessings. Karen will be remembered by her siblings David, Mark, Becky, Lori and her aunt Lynda. She will be dearly missed by the rest of her family and her friends, especially those at Value Village where she worked for many years.

Karen was an avid reader with a broad knowledge of many topics. She will be remembered for her wisdom, generosity and kindness and her love for the Blue Jays. A special thank you to her best friends Karen and Les Smith for being like family to her and for the copious amounts of support they gave her during her life, especially when she first got diagnosed with cancer and it came time for her to navigate through that new chapter of her life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services Inc. (905-354-2133). As per Karen’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Online condolences may be shared on Karen’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.

My condolences to Karen’s family. I worked with Karen for years and I think that she enjoyed giving me a hard time as much as I enjoyed giving her a hard time. She was a kind person with lots of good stories to share. Karen will be missed.

Karen will be missed by so many. She left her mark on everyone who met her., whether it was a new friend or people she met throughout her day at Value Village. We were friends for so long, it will take us a long time to get used to her not being with us. Rest in peace our dear friend.
