Obituary of Judith Lenore Rodgers

With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Judith Lenore Rodgers (née Allan) on Saturday April 29th, 2023, in Welland Ontario. Judy was a beloved mother, and grandmother who will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

Born in Oshawa on December 17, 1949, Judy was raised in Whitby (Kent St) with her brother Wayne by their mother and father, Eileen and Douglas Allan. Judy's memory will live on fondly through her many friends and especially her daughter Stacey Kushnir (Rodgers), son-in-law Jim, granddaughter Clara, and husband Charles Rodgers.

Judy spent her life growing plants and vegetables (Etobicoke), cooking (met Julia Child), painting (watercolour), baking Fall Fete Cakes (Howard Junior Public School), sewing (Stacey's wedding dress), and reading (To Kill a Mockingbird). Judy's expertise, sense of humour, and constant smiles have been a part of every community she shared including; Anderson CVI (Whitby), Canada Post (Bay and Front), Boots Pharmacies (Merton St.), Shell Canada (University and College, and in Calgary), Woodbine Racetrack (Rexdale), and in the Welland Community Centre Complex.

A special thanks goes out to St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital, HNHB, PSW, ParaMed palliative nurses, palliative EMS workers, the staff at Niagara Health - St. Catharines Site, and Welland General Hospital.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
