Obituary of Judith Margaret Mottram
Judith Margaret Mottram (née Penney)It is with hearts full of love that we share the passing of Judith Margaret Mottram (née Penney) on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Meadows of Dorchester, at the age of 77.
Judith has been reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, John Mottram, whom she missed so deeply. She was the loving mother of Ryan (Victoria) Mottram and Lisa (Blaine) Hokansson, and the proud grandmother of Michael, Lydia (Jack), Julia, Violet, Haily, and Miya, and great-grandmother of Matilda. Judith will be fondly remembered by Aunt Margaret, nephews & nieces Paul (Donna) and Sean (Janice), and cousins Christine, Matthew, Charlotte, and Rachel.
Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Audrey Penney, brother Steven, and sister-in-law Gillian, Judith’s determination and kind heart will continue to live on in the lives of those she loved.
Judith was a longtime member of the Burlington Curling Club, where she shared many years of friendship and laughter. She served as treasurer and proudly supported her community through coaching football, always happiest when encouraging others. A devoted New England Patriots fan, she rarely missed a game, and she loved following the Olympics and the Tour de France, cheering on the athletes with enthusiasm.
Creative and thoughtful, Judith spent countless hours cross-stitching and knitting, crafting beautiful pieces for those she cared about. She had a deep love of reading and could often be found lost in the pages of a good book. Among her greatest joys were her annual trips to England, where she treasured time spent visiting with family.
In keeping with Judith’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather to share memories and honour her life.
If desired, donations made in Judith’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.

Dear Lisa and “little” Ryan, sending heartfelt sympathies for the loss of your mum. As long time neighbours and friends of Judith and John I have si many fond memories of raising small children together. Our doors were always open to each other and to both of you as small children and young adults as well.
Judith was a strong, talented woman who loved to have fun, forged strong friendships and loved her family.
My sincerest sympathies
Nancy Hood
