Obituary of John Wesley Storm

Storm, John Wesley
June 14, 1976 – January 5, 2021

John passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on January 5, 2021. He will be missed by his parents George Storm (Erna) and Maria Foucault (Brian). Cherished brother to Will, Janice, &,Katie. Loving uncle to Evan and Edyn. John is survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his “Crazy Oma” Erna Duerksen.

John was always smiling and laughing; hence his nickname “Happy”. He enjoyed his time spent with various organizations and participating in local groups. He took part in the Niagara Special Olympics bowling, and spent many years volunteering for the ReStore (Habitat for Humanity) in St. Catharines. John loved hockey and rooting for the Boston Bruins, fishing with his Dad and Brother, as well as dancing to singers like Shania Twain. John was an active member of Mainstream, as well as a member of the “Friendship” group at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church.

The family would like to thank the social programs that John was a part of; he missed them greatly during the pandemic. They would also like to thank their friends and family for their support during this time. Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) has been entrusted with arrangements. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

A cremation will take place, with a celebration of his life to take place in the early summer months of 2021. Online condolences may be shared to John’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com

Johnny would sing and air guitar with his broom at the ReStore – he would tease me about sharing his lunch with me – “You get…. Nothin!'” and he would smile and smirk. He loved what he did at the store. Unlike others, he wasn’t in it for himself – he was there to serve and to be encouraged. He will be missed! Keep singing Johnny!

Dear George, Erna and family. We are sorry for the loss of John. I had the privilege of get to know John at the special needs class at Scott St. MB Church. The times he could come, because his health was so fragile, he came to class with always a smile. I’m so glad he could go to “Friendship” group. May God comfort you. Our condolences.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.

My heart goes out to his family, friends and everyone he knew. We are all at a loss for he really did make the world a better place just by being himself. Please accept my condolences..

I knew John through Mainstream Services. I knew him to be a friendly and invested person to everyone around him. I had the pleasure to teach John in an art class and he deserved high praise for his artwork. I have many fond memories of John and I am fortunate to have known him.
