Obituary of Jessica Amber Stacey

With broken hearts, we say goodbye to our beautiful Jessica. Throughout her life, she was a warrior of strength and love, fiercely devoted to her family. Even in the face of her illness, she remained a brave and courageous soul.

When she passed, she was surrounded by the love of her family and closest friends. She always lived life with strength, laughter, and love.

Jessica leaves behind her devoted husband, Colin Stacey, and her beloved daughter, Ember, whom she cherished beyond measure. Her fur babies, Jimi, Janis, and Claire were always by her side. Jessica was the treasured daughter of Mary-Beth Stacey and Wendy Sturgeon, affectionately known as "The Mommas," and stepmother Debbie Stacey. She leaves behind a circle of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins in the U.S., as well as her adored best friend, Tammy Lacas and daughter Araya. She will also be greatly missed by Colin’s mother, Pat, and extended family. Jessica was preceded by her father, Bob Stacey.

Jessica had a strong connection with the outdoors whether it be hiking, fishing, or boating and enjoyed many trips up North where she made countless memories with her family.

She left us much too soon but with permanent imprints of love on our hearts.

In accordance with Jessica’s wishes, cremation will take place, with arrangements entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jessica’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Niagara. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at Firemen’s Park, 2275 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls, from 5-8pm.

Jessica and I were grade school friends. We would sing and dance, babysitting or shopping. We had the best of times. Riding tandem bikes or camping in Allegheny… Jessica always saw the best in everyone including me and I was greatful for her friendship. Mary Beth and Wendy were amazing role models and so much fun. Im sorry we lost touch over the years but whenever I saw jess it was as if no time passed. Im thinking of her husband, beautiful daughter and all her close friends. I know how special she is and my thoughts are with you during this differcult time. Im very sad to learn of this profound loss.

Sending all Jessica”s love ones our love in this hard time, only the memories of Jessica’s love for all of you will make you heal.
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
