Obituary of Jeanette Foster (nee Meixner/Grimm)

Jeanette Foster (Nee Meixner/Grimm)

Passed away peacefully with her nephew by her side on January 24, 2020 at the age of 91. She will be lovingly missed by her nephew, Rene Meixner, grandson Chad Meixner, and her extended family. Jeanette is predeceased by her husband Stewart Foster, parents Maria (nee Grimm) and Hans Meixner, siblings Robert Meixner and Helen Meixner. She will be remembered by her friends; Patrick, Mike and Mario Ricci, Hershel Gross, Rose Greenstein, Paul Weiss, Ernest Cruz, Dr. S. Blair Fearon, Dr. Mark Anderson, Maria Skultety, Tom Cadaze, Bruno Kuemin, Ludwig Spiegelsberger and family, Marta Mesa, Josefa and Frank Radman, Doris and Allan Muir, Linda and Terry Flach/Corl, Hans Ludwig Fritze, Joseph Aestermaier, Ian and Nancy Robinson, The Steiner Family, Dr. Christopher M. Feindel, Ella Archbold and Family, Branden Springs and Family, Norman Gillis, Christel Artman and Family, Dr. Abele and Family, Hose Quibus and Family, Hoachim Haslauer, Dr. Delawer Asaad, Weiner Dufter and Family, Gerhard Schwienberger, Azima Allie and Family, Dr. Christine Fisher, Jim Stiliadis, Franz Prohaska and Family, Peter and Helen Tsakiridis, Walter Folsl and Family, Bruce Cutler and Family, Jeff and Jeanelle Kingstad and Family, Paul Sotvall, Sabine Davis and family, Zenon Mamalyga and family.

Jeanette enjoyed gardening and loved all flowers with her favourites including sunflowers and hibiscus. While her day job was a hairstylist of which she loved, she missed her calling as her interior designer as her skills were amazing. She took pride in home projects and renovations in her home, as well as others. She always looked to make things better. Jeanette loved all animals with dogs being her favourite. While her and her family were living in the Caymen Islands, they started a dog shelter of sorts housing and caring for several strays. When the decision was made to immigrate to Canada, they couldn’t leave their faithful companion, her golden retriever “Snoopy” behind. Overall, Jeanette’s strongest feature was her kind heart. She was always helping others and “couldn’t say no”. She would give and never expect anything back, she was an incredibly generous woman through her lifetime and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) have been entrusted with arrangements. As per Jeanette’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. Donations to Dog Guides of Canada would be appreciated by the family and condolences may be shared to Jeanette’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com.

“Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank you for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I’m blessed because you are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and you keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from you. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper about things over which I have no control. Let me continue to see sin through God’s eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus’ example – to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It’s the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, you listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who will delete this without sharing it with others. I pray for those who don’t believe. But I thank you that I believe.
I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance or situation greater than God. Every battle is in your hands for you to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.
This is my prayer.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

I knew Jeanette a long time ago. I was a friend of her brother, Robert and spent some time …Once we flew from Toronto to Kingston, Ontario together with Helen. Her nephew, Eugen, I met when he was ten years old and we spent time up North in Muskoka Rest in peace, together with your beloved family. I loved your brother and never forgot any of you

We will always miss Jeanette and her generous nature. She really took to my dog Pluto, and would feed him many bony treats, calling him Snoopy all the way. Although we only met her during the last year, we will never forget our welcome every time we came to see her and her beloved nephew Rene. Frank spent quite some time with Jeanette and Rene last year, and for him, it was quite a vacation.
Rest in peace, we feel you every time we visit with Rene–cheers Jeanette!

I briefly knew Jeanette while living in the Cayman Islands however she brought enrichment into my life by her presence. I will surely miss her smile. My condolences to your family Rene. I don’t believe in death as an end all but as an awakening. I believe she is awaiting all her loved ones back home….
