Obituary of Jean McIntee (nee Luchkewich)
McIntee, Jean (nee Luchkewich)Passed away peacefully with her loving husband and daughter by her side and her grandchildren in her heart, at Greater Niagara General Hospital on March 29, 2021 at the age of 75. Beloved spouse of 48 years to Don and loving Mom to Lisa. Cherished Grandma to Adriana, Alessandria, Alaina, Juliano and “Great Grams” to Ava and Aria. Missed by her loving loyal canine companion, Sadie. Jean was loved by everyone including her nieces and nephew, and many many friends. Jean retired in 2011 after a 47-year career with Archer Truck Services, which was originally founded by her brother-in-law Roy and her sister Mary to enjoy her family & help others. She is now reunited with family that have predeceased her and she will be deeply missed by all.
Jean was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Gram, Aunt and friend to many. Her world revolved around her family who were always her center. She lived for her family and each member will always have many happy memories of her. Jean was always willing to help and consistently known for being caring, strong, selfless and understanding, no matter what. She was always “one step ahead” of people, making sure that everyone was taken care of. She was occasionally known as the “Jelly Lady”, for her ability to turn just about anything into a delicious jelly, that was always enjoyed. Jean’s family has wonderful memories of spending time with her at the Faun Lake cottage. Her daughter and grandchildren will always remember her for being a vital part of raising her grandkids. She was a large part of their day to day, establishing their morals and carrying them through the years of their lives. Jean will be dearly missed by everyone she knew.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Walker Family Cancer Centre for the compassion and care they showed to Jean during her time there. “You made us feel like we were family”.
Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) has been entrusted with arrangements. A celebration of Jean’s life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be shared to Jean’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com.

Maggie and I only met Jean and Don just short of five years ago. Jean was the first of our new neighbors to knock on the door, with a plate of cookies, to welcome us to the neighborhood. We became firm friends from that moment! Instantly likeable, Jean became a caring friend. I will miss the phone calls that always began with “And how are you today, my darling?” That always made me laugh! Jean’s quick wit and wonderful sense of humor immediately brightened up your day. We share with Don and family our most sincere condolences and love. RIP.
Dear Lisa, and Family, my sincere condolences my friend. Loosing a loved one is never easy, but one thing is for sure, gaining an Angel is a priceless blessing.
Sending you love and Prayers and wishing your moms memories bring you joy and warmth when you need it! 🙏🏽💛
Having your mom in my life was a blessing. Prayers and thoughts are with you all. Love you guys.
Once in a while you are lucky enough to meet someone who just “clicks” and Jean and Don clicked nearly 48 years ago when we became neighbours. We were blessed to share many of life’s milestones together. Jean shared her endless kindness, warmth, great humour and compassionate self with us at every opportunity. Dennis, Melanie, Lesley, Kelly and myself were blessed to know her and call her friend. RIP dear friend until we can sit around the pond and share our stories.
