Obituary of Jean Theresa Fleming
Jean Fleming, known for her resilient spirit and caring nature, passed away on August 20, 2023, at 77. Born in Papenburg, Germany, she settled in Niagara Falls, ON leaving an indelible mark on her community.Her strong will guided her through life's challenges, while her generosity and kindness touched everyone she met. Jean's culinary skills were a source of comfort, especially her beloved pierogies and cabbage rolls. Sewing and gardening brought her joy, yielding handmade creations and flourishing vegetable patches.
Jean worked at Niagara Falls City Hall before becoming a dedicated homemaker. She leaves behind her beloved husband James, devoted children Dan (Angela) and Deanna Phillips (John), and cherished grandchildren: Meghan, Matthew, Chloe, Caleb, and Cadence. She is survived by loving brothers-in-law Tom, Richard (Julie), Joe and sisters-in-law Patricia, Theresa, and Fran as well as many nieces and nephews, and a cousin, Irene (George) Thorne.
Jean's legacy of strength, compassion, and love lives on in our hearts. She will be terribly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In accordance with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 102A-4300 Drummond Rd., Niagara Falls on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3-5p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Niagara Falls Humane Society are appreciated. Jean and I went back to our high school years. She was an attendant at my wedding in 1970. Jean was a friendly, caring person who will be missed. Deepest condolences to Jim and family

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jean for the last few years and I consider myself very lucky for the short time I was given with her. Jean was an outstanding human; full of kindness, an abundance of knowledge, cute witty remarks and smile on her face. I have gained so much from Jean with cooking/baking and how to keep my plants thriving. Jean knew I had a sweet tooth and I was always greeted with special treats when she would come for appointments (or sometimes I was really lucky and Jean would make a special trip).
I am so very sorry for this tremendous loss. She will be missed, but I will still think of her each morning when I look at the aloe plant she gave me.
