Obituary of Jamie Robert Callaghan
Jamie Callaghan, of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55. Jamie worked as a contractor throughout the Niagara Region. He was an avid fisherman who loved being outdoors with his loyal companion, Riley. Jamie was popular amongst his friends with his welcoming smile and his infectious sense of humor. He cherished his time playing softball and pool, as well as other games and activities. Jamie enjoyed house gatherings with friends in St. Catharines along with spending time by the lake in Byng. Jamie is predeceased by his father Robert Callaghan and step-son Joshua Bowering, survived by his mother Sharon Thorne (Archie), his brother Terry (Christine), his sister Bobbi-Jo (Cindy), his two daughters Nicole and Jackie, their mother Monique, step-son Joseph Bowering and many add-on daughters. James was truly loved by Teresa Smith, Kaitlyn Smith-Forte (Vince), Tim Smith and the best Papa to Harper Forte. He will be missed tremendously by his many friends and family.Jamie's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Niagara Regional Police Service and the NRP Marine Unit, as well as all who have offered support during this difficult time.
In keeping with Jamie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Guests are invited to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 221 Division Street, Welland, (905) 734 1031 on Wednesday October 27, 2021 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jamie's memory can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North and West Niagara or to Pathstone Mental Health, if desired.

Dear Nicole and Jackie; You are in my thoughts and prayers. Having known you two since you were very young kids “next door” on Barton Street I feel such heartache that you are now suffering the loss of your Dad. Your family has had too much grief to deal with. I wish you both peace and whatever comfort you can create with your memories of the most important men in your lives, so far. Your brother Josh, Grandpa Bob and now your Dad.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jamie was a special kind of person who could warm the room with his smile. We had some great times when we were kids growing up. We had just recently become re aquainted again and it seemed that he had not changed a bit. His sense of humor was always wacky and is definately something I will miss. I am crushed by this news and will miss Jamie dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
