Obituary of Jack Smith

Jack Smith, a dedicated and accomplished professional, passed away on January 17, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on March 24, 1943, in the Netherlands Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jenny, and two daughters, Jacqueline and Tara and his brother Gary. Jack also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

With a remarkable 40-year career as a Service Engineer at Foster Wheeler, Jack later founded his own company, J. S. Power. His work took him on numerous travels, including his cherished annual trip to Bali with Jenny.

A true enthusiast, Jack enjoyed collecting cars and was known for his love of guns. In his leisure time, he found comfort in the companionship of his three dogs to whom he is now reunited with, Giorgio, Lucky, and Marilyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Greater Niagara Humane Society, causes close to Jack's heart. In keeping with Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.

Jack's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, remembering not only his professional achievements but also the love, adventures, and lasting impact he shared with the world. May he rest in peace.
