Mrs. Gordon was my homeroom teacher in grade 4. I remember her classroom was a little more strict than I was accustomed to at the time. I believe her background was Ukrainian. I will never forget the first day of class, she had us practice our penmanship. I had to copy a long passage from an old textbook on John Henry “the steam drill man”. I was worried she was all work and no play but once we settled in, then came the music. Mrs. Gordon was a phenomenal pianist, she would play an old upright, and we often spent entire mornings singing. From Oh Canada, to Turn, Turn, Turn, Where have all the flowers gone, to Harry Bellafonte’s Yellow Bird. She would also share old films with us such as “The Red Balloon”. I will always remember these things thanks to Mrs. Gordon. My Condolences to the family.
Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Cherish your memories and embrace the love and support of those around you.
So Sorry for your loss Andrew and Tania. I remember your mom and her booming alto voice in the church choir when I was an alter boy. May she be at peace. Vichnaya Pamyat
Sincere condolences. You are in our thoughts and in our hearts. Love you all.
