Obituary of Heather Joan Shergold
Heather was born and raised in Nova Scotia by her mother Shirley and her father Terry. She was a woman of many talents, excelling especially at the French horn, mathematics, and softball. With the help of her older brother David, she taught herself to play the piano. She also had a wonderful singing voice, even though she could be quite shy about sharing it publicly. She loved music, especially live concerts.
Heather earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario, after which she worked for many years in Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care. Heather very much loved working with those children and often talked about them at length when she came home from work. Sometimes the stories she told we're so heartbreaking that she wished she could bring those children home to raise them herself. Heather also had a deep love for animals, she rescued and fostered several cats and dogs in her life time. Animals loved her right away and were drawn to her, especially her two dogs Kitsi and Tommie, who are resting with her now.
Most importantly, Heather helped raise two wonderful children, Breanna and Ethan, now in their twenties and pursuing careers in kung fu and music, respectively. Even though they have both chosen unconventional paths, as a mother she supported their choices and was proud of their success. May God, the Eternal Father, and his Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, be with her now as she watches over them from Beyond the Veil. May she finally find Stillness.
In accordance with Heather's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Heather's Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 785 Warner Rd, St. Davids, on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.

I am forever grateful for all of our memories. New Year’s Eve at east side Mario’s was a lot of fun. All our trips to the mall and the food court. You were one of my best friends. There were no judgements. I hope you know that I will miss you terribly. You became a good friend.
Truly heartbroken. Condolences to all of Heather’s family and friends.
Recently had the pleasure of meeting Heather at Church of the Incarnation, Oakville. She endeared herself to everyone. We were just getting to know her. Condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Heather, your passing was a shock to all of us, you leave behind two amazing children Bre, and Ethan, you are a part of who they are, and they are who they are because you brought them into this world. I have tears as I look at your beautiful face, I know life was so difficult and I feel so sad for your loneliness while on this earth. Sending Love upwards, we will watch over your sweet kids and just know they will not be left alone, they will be so loved.
Jeannie Williams.
I was very surprised to hear of Heather’s passing as other nurses who worked with her at McMaster’s Children’s hospital were as well. May she she rest in peace.
To Heather’s Family,
I wish to express my condolence over the loss of your dear one Heather. How sad it must feel to lose such a kind, loving and caring person. Her love for both people and animals was so evident and her life of self sacrifice is one that wont be forgotten. Please draw comfort in the Bible’s promise of a better world for mankind. God promises that soon he will undo the effects of death and remove it forever. Soon life will be full of happiness, joy and peace with all our loved ones never fearing death again… (Revelation 21:3,4 Acts 24:15, Psalms 37;11,29) May these sure promises of our Creator comfort you at this difficult time and may the precious memories you shared with Heather help to ease some of the pain we now bear until that day when you see her again.
Best wishes to you all.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Heather many years and I enjoyed every minute. She cared for these babies so much and often took care of the heartbreaking cases. She was always a gentle and loving soul. I think of her often and will still miss her.
