A Beautiful Woman. She made such a profound impact on me, as a child. My second, “Mom”. I will never forget the lessons learned, her graciousness, her kindness, her wit…and her humour. RIP Sweet Lady. Keep Mark out of Trouble up there, if you can! xoxo
I will miss you with all of my heart,my sweet Heather. I loved our chats and the endless laughter. I will miss you ” giving Momma some Sugar” and telling one another “I Love You ”
To Heather’s Family: Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. Your Mom was one of the good ones and I will forever cherish her friendship
Here is a true tale about Heather. Heather and I used to go “across river” frequently for shopping and to have lunch. Traditionally, Heather would hold onto the passports until we had cleared Canada Customs on our way home. Well, on one occasion, I went across with another friend. The trip was uneventful until we stopped for Canada Customs. The Custom’s officer, a woman, inquired “Which of you is Heather Askew”? Well, I immediately understood the problem and I tried to explain. Then she asked: “Did you present this passport to American Customs when entering the U.S.”? Fortunately, my passenger was able to verify that indeed the U.S. Customs officer had accepted the passport. I should explain, Heather’s passport photo appeared blurry and monochrome so it “coulda” been me (sorta). Anyway, getting back to the tale, the Customs officer accepted my tale and strongly advised me to get my passport back ASAP! Upon getting home, I phoned Heather, exchanged passports and never let her have my passport again. And thus ends the tale. And that’s the truth!
