Obituary of Grant James Poetz

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Grant, who passed away peacefully in his home, in Port Colborne, Ontario, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the age of 65. His children, Steven (Cassandra) Poetz and Christina (Brian) Reynolds, his loving mother Joan (Walter "Jinx") Peel, and his siblings Brian (Linda), Kathy (Nick), Kelly, and Shannon, as well as his cousins and extended family, will remember him. He will also be dearly missed by his best friend Elaine Magee. He was predeceased by his father Ronald (2021). Grant was best described as very independent, always marching to the beat of his own drum. In his early years, he sold hats at the market and when he lived in Calgary he fixed appliances. He was a jack of all trades which paved the way for him to continue his career in construction for LiUNA. We truly hope he has now found rest and peace. In accordance with Grant's wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.
