Obituary of Grace Cercone
Grace passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on September 11, 2024 at the age of 69. She was a loving mother to Sheila (Damien Smith), Jeffrey (Rossella), and her cherished furbaby Luna. Grace will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Agnes Murphy and Bill Murphy, her former spouse and good friend Louis Cercone, Dustin Harding and his family (Tammy, Ethan and Dylan), and her longtime friends Verna, Rena, Michelle, Patty W. and many others. She is now reunited in peace with her parents William and Grace Murphy and her dear friend Patty Valleriani.Grace was known for her loud, robust laugh and her sense of humour, often without realizing how funny she truly was. Her filterless sense of humor and zest for life were matched only by her enormous heart and boundless kindness. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved, always putting others before herself. Grace found joy in spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog Luna. She enjoyed visits to the dog park, loved to cook and loved food.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who provided support and comfort during the past year. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Grace's life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA.

I worked with Grace at Algoma back in the late 90’s and she was always a fun loving person to be around even though some of us played awful jokes on her (especially her fear of spiders). Rest in Peace dear lady.
Love and miss you Grace. Thanks for being around my family, it was always a joy to have you near,” big sister”. R.I.P.
Grace. we all miss you already.
Grace was the epitome of what a ‘mom’ was. She was always there when you needed her, even when you didn’t think you needed anyone or anything, she just knew. Grace was the kindest, sweetest, most caring gal around. Even though we weren’t biologically related, she made me feel like family, especially when going through hard times myself and losing my own mom and dad. She was always so genuinely interested in any news I had to share, she truly made everything else in the room disappear. She brought a brightness to everyone’s life that can’t be duplicated.
My heartfelt condolences to Jeff (Rose) , Lou, Sheila and everyone else impacted by this tremendous loss of an angel.
May you rest in peace Grace.
Another great loss to our family tree. Although not seen for a very long time, I still remember our wonderful time when the family visited Scotland all those years ago.
Say hello to those already lost Grace????
I am blessed to have so many fond, fond memories of “The Murphys” on Trelawn. The entire family, Grace Sr, Bill Sr, Grace, Agnes and Billy are the warmest and most generous of folks. No doubt Bill Sr. would say that’s the Scottish coming through! On my many “drop ins” it was especially nice when Grace would pop over just to say hi. She was, indeed,, one of a kind and her infectious upbeat personality was inspiring. She’s gone to be with her mum and dad now – and she’ll surely shake things up!
All our love
I was so shocked to hear the news about Grace. My sincere condolences to her family. I will always cherish the memories growing up in Fort Erie, Welland and Niagara Falls.. we may not always have seen each other but always had a special bond. Love you and will miss you dear cousin.
