In Loving Memory of
Glen Ross McCabe

Obituary of Glen Ross McCabe
Glen Ross McCabe passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 21st, 2026, at the age of 72, while receiving palliative care at Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. He was surrounded by love as he battled the late stages of pulmonary fibrosis.Born in Hamilton and raised in Niagara Falls, Glen was the spirited son of Lois and Ross McCabe. He grew up on Burdette Drive surrounded by four brothers (Dan, Tom, Brian and Pete) and one sister (Cheryl), building memories that would shape his life and bring laughter for decades to come.
Glen's great love was his wife Theresa (nee Dimitroff), who predeceased him. Together, they built a life filled with devotion and tenderness. He was an immensely proud and loving father to Rachel and Alyssa McCabe, and a grandfather who lit up in the company of his five grandchildren. To Pinaki, Donnie, Amaya, Adaya, and Aldavyna; he was their beloved "Gramps" and "Booboo," a man whose eyes always twinkled and whose heart overflowed with warmth and unconditional love.
Glen held a special bond with his brother Pete and sister-in-law Kara, and held a particularly close relationship with his nephew Brody and niece Jaime. In his final months, he was embraced by an extraordinary circle of friends whose kindness and steadfast support became his anchor in uncertain times; we are forever grateful.
A fierce competitor and natural athlete, Glen lived with passion and playfulness, yet possessed a tender heart that felt things deeply. He found solace in leisurely drives along the parkway, in casting a fishing rod from a boat surrounded by good company, and in the soothing sound of falling rain.
An outdoor celebration of Glen's life will be held this summer, in the season of “fresh fruit”; a season that captured the warmth and vitality of his spirit.
In memory of Glen, donations to the Toolbox Project of Niagara would be appreciated by his family.
Rest easy, Glen. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

I shall miss Glen and miss seeing him around the north end. I played a ton of Ball Hockey with Glen in the early/mid 80’s. As a younger, smaller guy, Glen seemed to magically appear whenever I was in jeopardy of physical harm lol. Always sticking up for me and his teammates. Yes, “Mop” was a fierce competitor indeed. I shall also always remember Glen driving that cool Volkswagen “Thing” in the 70s. Thanks for the memories my friend
Dear Rachel and family,

To the entire McCabe family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Glen. The times that we met, theresa would remind him of our silly childhood and he would laugh like he could envision it. Always a gentleman and a solid handshake. The memories of Glen and Theresa will always be remembered.
Rest easy Glen, you will never be forgotten.
50+ years ago on Drummond Road. The poster on the wall is part of the poem Fern Hill by Dylan Thomas. It reads:
In the sun that is young once only
Time let me play and be
Golden in the mercy of his means.
Rest in peace, Glen. XOXO
