Obituary of Gilles "Gil" Garon

Gilles "Gil" Garon, age 77, passed away on June 21, 2023, leaving behind his loving wife Robin, children Linda (Dan) and Randy (Jennifer), stepchildren Destiny (Cory), Stanley (Jessica), and Anna (Jeff), and grandchildren: Austin (Kelli), Bennett (Christina), Jillian, Joshua, Audrey, Bruce, Reid, Athena, Kierra, Aleska, Rocco, and Jax.

Gil will be missed by his siblings Albert (Shirley) and Rose (Earl), many nieces, nephews and extended family members as well as his best friends Cathy (Catherine to him) and Nick. He has been reunited with his brother Paul and parents, Henri and Claire and his beloved cats Cliff, Willow, and Casey.

Gil leaves many cherished memories and a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a hard worker, spending 50 years in the plumbing and welding businesses, forging many friendships along the way. He always had a passion for music, especially The Moody Blues, and travelling to warm places like Mexico, Puerto Rico, and St. Martin. In his younger days he was an avid boxer and had a love for working on cars and hunting, until he lived in New Brunswick for 5 years and decided he preferred to hand feed the deer in his front yard.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date, but all are welcome to remember Gil as you enjoy a nice cold beer in your yard or at the cottage with family and friends. If desired, donations can be made in his name to The Niagara Falls Humane Society.

So many good memories like when you sat and drew cartoons with me when I was a little girl. We never missed a hug when we saw each other and I’ll miss hearing you say “hello gorgeous”. I have always thought of you Uncle Gil and prayed for you. Will miss the chance to see you one more time. Hugs and deepest sympathies to my cousins Linda, Randy all the family, and those close to your heart.

Robin, and family,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of your dear husband, father, and grandfather.
Gil was a great neighbor, who became a great “FRIEND”. In the short time he lived in NB, we felt like we’d known him for years! We always enjoyed our impromptu visits on the porch, and he was always so welcoming and happy to see us. He enjoyed having us in hysterics at his many hilarious jokes! We are sad for his loss, but happy he was back home surrounded by his family. He was a great guy, with a big heart, and will be missed by us all. RIP Gil

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.

We couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor than Robin and Gil in NB. We feel so fortunate to have shared many laughs, cold drinks and great conversation with Gil. He was so kind to our family and we will never forget that. Sending love to you all from The Goldens.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.
