Obituary of Geraldine Lee Hough
HOUGH, Geraldine Lee “Gerry”Peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Gerry will be treasured by her beloved husband Doug and by her children Blair Hough (Sarah Laciok), Abbey Hough (Sean McCann), and grandchildren Carter and Barrett. She will forever be in the hearts of her parents John and Fannie Motchka.
Gerry will be remembered by her siblings Maryann Motchka (the late Thomas Clyde Henry), John Motchka (Debbie Dell), Cindy Motchka (Harland Kurt Vaughan), and by many nieces and nephews.
Gerry worked for 30 years as an insurance agent for CAA and Statefarm. She volunteered with the TAAA, and spent many weekends at the Thorold Arena watching her daughter figure skate and her son play hockey. Gerry loved volunteering for the “Friends of the Carousel” and enjoyed painting the horses and figures on the Port Dalhousie Carousel. She also loved playing baseball, and was always sure to have the Blue Jays game on. Her schnauzers were her pride and joy, spending time with Rudy and Bowser gave her lots of happiness.
As per her wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Walker Family Cancer Centre; this would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations may be made on Gerry’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.
