In Loving Memory of
Geraldine Hunter (née Krulik)
1937 - 2023
Obituary of Geraldine Hunter (née Krulik)
Early Sunday morning, December 3rd 2023, Geraldine went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour at age 86.Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on April 18th, 1937, Geraldine moved with her family to Hamilton, Ontario and then to Niagara Falls where she attended Maple Street Public School, N.F.C.V.I., and graduated as a Registered Nurse from GNGH in 1959.
She married Herman, the love of her life in 1959 and together they raised 3 children, Cheryl (Scott), Darlene (Jonathan), and Bruce. Geraldine had great love for each of her Grandchildren: Hunter, Rachelle, Luke, Holly, Logan and Caleb. Dear sister of Betty and Rudy (Linda). She was predeceased by her sister Hilda, by her brothers-in-law Abram and Harry, and also by her sister-in-law Karen.
Geraldine’s desire was to share the love and compassion she received from her Lord and Saviour with others around her. She demonstrated this by opening her heart, home, and kitchen to many.
Geraldine was a life-long learner. She enjoyed downhill skiing, synchronized swimming, cake decorating, various crafts and sewing projects, piano lessons and took further courses in nursing. She loved to read but mostly loved reading and studying the Bible, advancing her knowledge with correspondence courses in the New and Old Testaments. One of her favourite verses was, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.”
Special thanks to her family doctor, Dr. James Woodland and Dr. Huma Qawi and the Palliative Care Oncology team at the Niagara Health St. Catharines Site for their compassionate and outstanding care.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Gospel Church, 5855 Valley Way, Niagara Falls, on December 16th at 11:00am. There will be visitation before the service at 10:00am as well as following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Mission Eurasia, an organization that was dear to Geraldine’s heart. I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Geraldine. She was so kind and thoughtful. I remember as a little girl when I tagged along shopping with mom and Aunt Geraldine, Aunt Geraldine would always get me some little treasure on the trip. I also remember she usually arrived with a box of Turtles or some of her marvelous baking when Uncle Herman and her came for visits. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to talk about her family. She will be missed.
Herman and Family. Joanne & I were sorry to hear of Geraldine’s passing. May the knowledge of her entrance into Jesus presence sustain you in your grief. Praise God for her faith. Our sincere conolences.

Sincere condolences to Herman and all Geraldine’s family. As a beloved ‘sister’ , from the Nursing Class of ’59, Geraldine will be remembered as a true loving spirit who was always there to help & support others. May she rest in peace !
Herman, Geraldine was a wonderful partner. For over sixty years you served the Lord together and now you know she is home with Him. This gives you great comfort but it will not stop the loss you feel.. A large part of you is now missing. Numbers 6:24-26
So sad to hear of the passing of Geraldine! She was a wonderful sister in training in the class of 1959.A true Christian who loved her Lord!
A wonderful, caring, passionate Nurse !She introduced me to Grace Gospel when I first came to Niagara Falls ,and helped me through the homesickness from being away from my family for the first time.I always appreciated the guidance she gave me,and will miss her.
My thoughts are with you Herman, and all your family. She now has peace. with her Lord!
I cannot attend the service because I live near Athens, Georgia, U.S. It has been over forty years since I lived in the Niagara area. She was one of several women at Grace Gospel Church who made an impact on my life while I was a young girl and teen. I remember Geraldine as a caring Sunday School teacher and later in my teens she allowed me the opportunity to help her with her Sunday School Class. Geraldine loved the Lord. She had a quiet spirit. Although I spent time with her at church, I have this memory of us ice skating on Saturday morning. She patiently listened to me and maybe quietly encouraged me or guided me. I don’t know remember what she said, but she was there and cared. I think of her and other woman at Grace when I hear the song “Thank you for giving to the Lord”.
Mrs Hunter was one of my all time favourite people. We first met when she was the Nicey Nursey at Fair Glen’s Teen Camp in 1975. I loved spending time with the Hunters and always felt like an honorary member of the family.
Much love to Mr Hunter, Cheryl, Darlene and Bruce.
Sincere condolences John and Diane Thiessen
There are some things i will never forget. As a young boy, I remember being invited to stay for dinner one evening when Geraldine cooked liver for the family. I thought… No way i could eat that!… but it was actually really good! What i remember even more was that she was such a kind and caring person and knowing her had a real impact in my life.
My favorite Aunt Geraldine story was when we would meet up, she always told how was bathed by her in a tub in the shower of our old house on Lakeshore Road in St. Catharines. Thanks for the memories.

My deepest condolences to Herman and all the family. Geraldine was a very sweet lady. Enjoyed seeing her when I was attending church. She was always very kind to me. Looking forward to seeing her again in Heaven.
I attended Grace Gospel from 1978 to 1990. Geraldine visited after the birth of one of our daughters with some delightful chocolate chip cookies. She was always a delight herself. Always a smile. So sorry for this loss Herman and family. Praying for your peace and comfort.
I attended Grace Gospel from 2013-2021. I didn’t know Geraldine as a close friend but found her to be a very gentle and loving lady….. I have a devotion book entitled “A Gentle Spirit” and to me Geraldine is the epitome of that…. I send my sincere condolences to the family and to Herman as he was always concerned about my family..
I’m so sorry to hear about Gerry. She was a wonderful sister-in-law with a wonderful soul. My condolences go out to Herman and all the family. Heaven gained another Angel. Love Elaine, God bless everyone!!
