Obituary of Geoffrey Alan Reid
Sadly we announce the passing of Geoffrey Alan Reid on Saturday July 2, 2022, at the age of 60. He was a devoted husband to Rosie Dimora-Reid, loving, caring father and best friend to Spencer Reid. Geoff will be deeply missed by his sisters and brother, Jane Kuipers, Jill and Brian Hall, Robin and Alex Wilson, Malcolm and Darlene Reid; his sisters-in-law Ninfa and Pat Mines, Angela Western, Josie Dimora. His many nieces and nephews will fondly remember Uncle Geoff. His mischievous smile is etched in our hearts. Geoff was predeceased by his parents, Alan and Audrey Reid, his brother Chris, his in-laws Gaetano and Domenica Dimora.Geoff was born in Port Colborne, grew up in Gasline, graduated from Lockview Park SS, and spent most of his adult years in Fort Erie. He was an accomplished tradesman. His painting expertise covered the Greater Niagara area through the GTA, and included Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, decks, homes and cottages along the Lake Erie shoreline and Niagara River. Geoff’s brush strokes adorn many households – his many clients will sorely miss his skill.
Geoff was an avid Buffalo Bills fan; he enjoyed golf, beach gatherings, music, and reading. He drew most pleasure from hanging out with Spencer and his friends in the garage; listening to music and dancing with Rosie; and getting together with his extended family. Everyone looked forward to Geoff’s great stories. Geoff’s claim to fame is his annual New Year’s Day beach celebration – a tradition that has carried on for 30+ years, and will continue on in his memory.
A celebration of Geoff’s life will be held at Bridgewater Country Club, 700 Gilmore Rd., Fort Erie on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. If desired, memorial donations in Geoff’s memory can be made to Matthew House Refugee Ministry, Fort Erie or a charity of one’s choice.

So sorry to hear. I was blown away by the news. We talked about seeing each other this summer. I’m sorry I never got the chance. So many great memories. Sending love to the family, looking forward to see you all, and sharing the good times.
