Obituary of Gabriele Marinelli

Peacefully, in the early hours of Thursday September 28, 2023, Gabriele Marinelli was called to be with the Lord. Surrounded by his close family, he left this world at age 83. Gabriele was welcomed home by his parents, Giacinto and Laura, his brothers Vincenzo and Ugo, his sisters-in-law Mafalda, Luisa and Michelle. Gabriele leaves behind his beloved and dedicated wife Anna Concetta, of 36 years, his brother Nicola, nephews, great-nieces and cousins.
Those who knew Gabriele will remember him for making others happy through his passion for cooking. Gabriele's extraordinary talent with food and hospitality led him through many ventures including the Four Brothers Restaurant, a successful catering business and his own cooking show on local TV and radio. Gabriele shared his time and talents for many years volunteering for the Lions Club of Niagara Falls and Club Italia. He loved nothing better than preparing meals for his family and entertaining them with his music and friendly conversations. He will be dearly missed. His family would like to thank the doctors, nurse practitioners and nursing staff of the Rainbow Unit at GNGH for taking care of Gabriele during his final weeks.

In keeping with Gabriele's wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, Niagara Falls. A memorial mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church 5740 Buchanan Ave, Niagara Falls on Friday October 13, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. A private family inurnment will take place at Fairview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association of Canada and to the NHS-Niagara Falls Site would be appreciated by his family.

I first met Gabe when I rented the apartment over the Marinelli’s back in the 70’s. Best place I ever lived! The only reason I left was my job took me to London, but I recommended to my brother to move in and he did. Gabe was a lot of fun and such a great cook! I still make his marinated mushrooms to this day. Gabe is the type of person that you never ever forget. So sad to know that he has left us. Godspeed, Gabriele, Godspeed.

I’,ve known Gabe since the early 70’s. when he ran the restaurant. He was always so welcoming . The perfect man for such a job. The food was always delicious . He would say “Let me surprise you I’m making something new”. It was always wonderful.
Over the years whenever we’d meet I felt I was meeting an old friend. We’d share a hug and always promise to meet for coffee which we never did.
Anna I send my deepest condolences .Know that we are thinking of you.

Dear Anna and family, Our condolences on the passing of Gabriele. We have known him for many years, meeting with my parents who knew him to cater our wedding. To this day we have our best-man who says it was the best lasagna he ever ate on that day, this was 39 years ago. Later we met up with you both at the pharmacy I worked at where you became customers and good friends. May his memory live your hearts always.
