William Frederick Cook

Obituary of William Frederick Cook
It is with saddened hearts we announce the loss of our dear brother Fred, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 1, 2024. Predeceased by his loving parents, Marjorie (2004) and Hermin Cook (1996) and brother Ken (April 2024). Fred will be dearly missed by his siblings, Gerry (Eleanor), Rick (Terri), Debbee (Tim) and Sandy (Steve). Fred was a proud and loving uncle and great uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his close cousins Pat (Ed) and Harold, and will be missed dearly by his friends Andrew, Gord, Joe and Brian. Fred is also survived by his Aunts and an Uncle and many cousins.Fred spent his early days growing up in Boyle and Wellandport where he made great country memories that he fondly spoke about. His career path started out in St.Catharine's. In the late seventies he moved to Toronto because of work and lived in the Toronto area for over 40 years. He enjoyed the fast pace there and all it had to offer. Fred's love for music became his hobby and side job. After retiring in 2012 from Federal Mogul, he had more time to enjoy his passion that became a small business to him, of which he was very proud of. In October 2022, Fred moved back home to Niagara where he and his family would be close again. Thank you to all who provided care and support to Fred throughout his recent illness
In accordance with Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Welland on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. A private family interment will immediately follow the visitation.

Very saddened to hear of Fred Cook’s passing as i reached out to him yesterday (Oct 18,24′) to see if he could do me a DVD & CD of the CDB @ Austin City 1976,only to find his cell # is no longer in service.I was blessed to meet Fred through our love of all things music.
I met with Fred several times over the next 5 years near the Chrysler Plant Brampton after loading my car hauler, or at Wellington & Main in Welland, coming back empty from the Buffalo NS Railhead,at the top of the 406 to do a roadside deal…cash for finely packaged musical joy!
My wife Sarah and I had the pleasure of sitting with Fred over coffee and tea…he was the perfect gentleman my wife said! Fred,Thank You for the roadside chats about religion, politics and MUSIC.
Thank you for contributing in the parts supply industry, as a working member of society.
God rest your soul brother, and all the best to your family.
Chris & Sarah Papiez
So sorry for your loss. I had known Fred a long time and he was a great friend. I’d lost touch with him once he moved away from Woodbridge and I found out by chance as teh result of web search. We had great times and some good chats. He is remembered by myself and both my kids who he watches grow up

Deepest sympathy to the cook family
Sorry to hear of Fred’s passing.
Condolences to the Cook family.
I moved to Toronto to work at TRW in 1984 and become acquainted with a “mad shipper” named Fred. Over time, Fred and I got to be close friends and would have our regular Tuesday night dinner and a movie. I also remember many trips to Sam the Record Man where Fred introduced me to many amazing bands. I miss those times as I will miss Fred who was a great guy
