Obituary of Frank Edward Hurst
We are very saddened to announce the passing of Frank Edward Hurst on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Frank is survived by his beloved wife and best friend for 61 years, Marie Hurst. He was an incredible father to Debbie McGarvie (Glenn and family) and Sandy Bagshaw (Dave). Proud grandfather of Victoria Emslie (Steve), and Olivia Bagshaw. Loved brother to Dan, Bob, Patricia, Linda, Sue and brother-in-law to Jean Ruttan. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbours, as well as his ‘good’ daughter, Patricia Tucker. Frank is predeceased by his loving mother and father, Eileen and Frank Hurst, and the ‘boys’, Ralph and Don Woods.Frank will forever be remembered for his charm, quick-wit and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew him. A story-teller by nature, he loved sharing his tales over dinner and a glass of scotch surrounded by his family. He had an incredible love for animals, loving and caring for over 16 dogs in his lifetime. He had a passion for wood-working and will be remembered for his time spent building, repairing and restoring, beautiful clockwork.
We would like to personally thank all of the wonderful staff at Hospice Niagara, his two nurses from Paramed: Julie and Tina, and the VON staff for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Also to Maggie Morris (Whispers of Wisdom) and Krystal Riddell (Essentials) for their gentle guidance and support. Cremation has taken place with a private military interment to follow in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Memorial donations given to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by Frank's family.

Uncle Frank was always such an amazing man. I loved his stories about the family history and he was just so great. He will be very missed. Sending love to Aunt Marie, Debbie, Sandy and to the reminder of the family. Sending you lots of love!

Bob and I are deeply saddened to hear of Frank’s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marie , Debbie, Sandy and all the family. He was a gentle and kind soul and I remember his beautiful smile.
A few years back, Bob had the pleasant surprise of meeting Frank at the Toronto Airport where Bob was picking up passengers. He said it was so great to have a visit in such a surprising way. with his brother. A lovely memory to cherish.
