Obituary of Florence 'Flo' Edna Sider
It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence “Flo” Edna Sider, who slipped away peacefully with her friends and family by her side on Friday, December 26, 2025, in her eighty-first year.Flo is now reunited with her beloved husband, George Henry Sider, and her cherished children, Daniel “Moose” Sider and Annette Sider, who predeceased her.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humour, and unwavering love in the hearts of those who will miss her dearly: her son George William Sider (Christine), her daughter Sherry Lynn Sider, her grandchildren Candi Sider, Crystal Goldsworthy (Aaron), Daniel Sider (Jess), Cody Sider, Veronica Sider, Desiree, Kimberly, Max Sider, and her treasured great-grandchildren.
Flo made Linhaven Long Term Care her home in recent years, where she proudly served as Vice President of the Residents’ Committee. She was known for her bright smile, warm greetings, and her ability to light up any room she entered. For Flo, the staff and residents at Linhaven were not just caregivers and neighbours; they were part of her extended family, and she adored them deeply.
To Flo, there were no strangers, only friends she had not yet met. Her joyful spirit, compassion, and quick wit created connections everywhere she went.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 26, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm at the Darline Ryan Centre- Port Robinson, 40 Cross Street, Thorold, Ontario, L0S 1K0, to honour and remember Flo's remarkable life.
