Obituary of Evelyn Mary Bertrand
Evelyn Mary Bertrand (nee Hall)Born on April 13, 1932 in Schumacher, Ontario, died on March 13, 2019 at the Welland Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Serge Bertrand (d. 2005). She lived most of her life in Schumacher and Gold Centre. In 2007 she relocated to Niagara Falls to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, knitting, watching the Raptors and Blue Jay's games on TV, and being in the company of family and pets. She is survived by her daughter Leslie, sons Howard (Maria nee Venneri) and David (Maria nee Barbuto). Cherished Grandmother of Tyler and Derek Bertrand, Claudia (Karan) Chhabra, Jason Calhoun and Laurel Calhoun, Victoria Bertrand and Kenzie Bertrand. Great-grandmother of Sacha and Kyle Chhabra. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Eleanor Hall and by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Emma and Leslie George Hall; siblings Leslie Kirk Hall, Isabel Philion, Howard Hall, Eilleen Wollan, Eddie Hall and Kenneth Hall. A heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of the 4th floor of the Welland Hospital, for your care and compassion. In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A private Celebration of Life and interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Evelyn's memory, may be given to the Lung Association. Online condolences and donations may be shared on Evelyn's tribute page found at essentialscbs.com.
