Obituary of Eugenia “Jean” Theresa Gagnon

Eugenia “Jean” Theresa Gagnon (nee Lewandowski)
July 20, 1942 – March 17, 2023

Jean passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Predeceased by her husband Gilles (2020), who was her partner in life for 63 years. Jean was an incredible, loving mom to her children Christine (Ed Mason) and William (Shari Favaro). Grandmother to Robyn Purvis, Steven Gagnon, Jason Gagnon, and Will Gagnon. Great-grandmother to Noah Purvis and Jack Gagnon.

Jean was a kind woman who made friends everywhere she went. Spent most of her life in Port Colborne, often helping out at Husnik’s Subs or sitting on her front porch talking to anyone that stopped by. She loved Bingo, cards, and many many trips to Las Vegas with her daughter.

Later in life, Jean and Gilles became involved in cars and were the proud owners of two Mustangs. Together they spend many hours doing car shows with friends.

A special thank you to the agencies that supported Jean and her family in her final weeks. To Robyn, Jean’s caregiver for the past three years; Grandma loved you.

As per Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Jean would like everyone to celebrate their memories of her. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be given to Wheels of Hope to help provide transportation to those fighting cancer.

“May the gates of Heaven be wide open for the arrival of this Angel.”
