Obituary of Ethel Wood

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ethel on June 6, 2022 at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Roy Wood. Loving mother to Andre (Margaret) Chevalier and Marcel (Carol) Chevalier. Cherished grandmother to Michael Tyrrell, Robert Tyrrell, Scott Chevalier, Mareille Chanock, Robert Chevalier and Daniel Chevalier. Great-grandmother to Sonia Chevalier. Much loved aunt to Nicole Nolan. Predeceased by her parents William and Anna Griffiths, and by her siblings John Griffiths and Mildred Morris.

Ethel was born in Cologne, Germany on January 28, 1922. She proudly served in the Military as both a dispatcher and translator while stationed in England. Ethel was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 479. She was loved by many, and will be missed by those who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 102A-4300 Drummond Rd., Niagara Falls on Wednesday, June 15 from 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Ethel's life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 479), 5603 Spring St, Niagara Falls, on Saturday, June 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Women's Place.

I have many fond memories of working with Ethel at the Legion. She was a good volunteer and a hard worker. She will be missed.
