Obituary of Eileen Horning
Her goal was to live to the age of 95. She didn't reach her goal, but she never stopped trying. The strongest and most stubborn person we ever knew, passed away April 26th at the age of 92. Eileen leaves her only daughter Barbara Horning (Ken Winfield), the love of her life, her granddaughter, Jaimee Bougie, and step-grandchildren Katelyn and Chase Winfield. She is also survived by her sister Carole Climenhaga (Orville) nieces and nephews, and extended family Jamie, Danielle (Monachino) Brock and Paige Bougie. She is predeceased by her husband John and many family members and friends.Eileen loved and lived life to the fullest. She traveled extensively in her younger years, bowled until she was 87, cut her own lawn until 89, and loved gambling! Thank you to Phylis Bracken, Julie Metcalfe and Betty Teal for being good friends to Mom.
As per Eileen's request, cremation has taken place and a small private service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In Eileen's memory, donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or to Niagara Distress Centre would be appreciated.Online condolences may be shared on Eileen's tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.
