Obituary of Douglas Carson Desy
July 2, 1957 - August 8, 2021It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Douglas on August 8, 2021 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Douglas has now been reunited with his beloved wife Irene. He will be sadly missed by his son Michael Green, and daughter Amanda Green (Jon Holst). Douglas will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Emily and Ethan. His memory will be cherished by his siblings Sharon Desy, Donna Lewis and Brian Desy (Freida). Douglas is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Andrew, Aaron, Adam, Alex, Amanda, Jessica, Michelle, Kathryn and 8 great nieces and nephews.
Douglas met Irene when they were in high school. Over many years they became very close friends. Douglas later married Irene and spent over 20 years in complete bliss. Douglas sadly lost his wife three years ago, and is now walking side by side with her. Doug grew up in Fonthill, Ontario, and was the second eldest of 4 children. Douglas enjoyed being outdoors in nature, fishing, golfing, and going to the gun range. He was also a huge animal lover who had a soft spot for German Shepherds. Doug also worked for the Steamship Line and was a crane operator for many years.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Essentials, 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by calling (905) 354 2133 between 10:00AM and 5:00PM or by emailing [email protected]. Memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Falls Humane Society.
