Obituary of Dorothy B. Lyons
With her daughters by her side, Dorothy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Lyons (2021) and by her son Jeffrey (2021). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Jane Gold, Sandra Lyons, and Catherine Lyons along with her grandchildren.Dorothy worked as a geriatric nurse for many years, but her favourite role in life was being a mother. She loved dedicating her time to her family as they were her life. A special thank you to Dr. Scher and to the nursing staff who took care of our mom during her hospital stay.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Service. A private graveside service was held in honour of Dorothy, at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared on Dorothy’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com

I know you feel your mom’s role in life was being a mother. Knowing Dorothy the wee little bit I did,. I want you to know she was one of the most welcoming people to newcomers to her community. She greeted me with open arms and no questions. I feel for you in your loss. There’s nothing like losing your mom. She was a great lady.
So very sorry for your loss. Your mother/grandmother was a beautiful soul and she lives on each of you. She made the world. Better place.
