Donny Hartle

Obituary of Donny Hartle
Passed away doing what he loved on April 17, 2023, at the age of 68. Donny was born in Cornwall, Ontario, on December 30, 1954, to the late Welland George Hartle (1971) and the late Oriette Hartle (2005). Dear Brother to Gary, Ronald, Robert, Douglas, Kenneth, Deborah, Gail, Judy, David, and the late Joyce. Donny lived life on his own terms and was known for his passion for helping others. He was a regular patron of Tim Hortons in Thorold, where he would always order a "Double Double, make it a large." Donny's dedication to his community and his friendly nature earned him the nickname "Mayor of Thorold." He enjoyed staying up-to-date on what was going on around him and would frequently walk great distances to Niagara Falls, Welland, or St. Catharines. If he couldn't find a ride home, he would walk back to Thorold. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. Words of remembrance can be shared around a cup of coffee for Donny on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Living Water Community Church, 42 Ormond St., Thorold. A Celebration of Donny's Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2pm at the family home 9115 Yokum Rd., Niagara Falls. I met Donny a few years ago Always doing something for someone Such a caring and kind man I miss seeing you around Thorold and at Tim horton’s for coffee RIP Donny 🙏 Condolences to all families and friends
Sending love to the Hartle family for your loss.
I have known Donny for a long time. He used to come out to my grandfather’s and cousins farms to help out. Donny was always smiling. He was never afraid to help out or stop you for a great gab session. Since I started working in Thorold 4 years ago, I have seen Donny almost every day. He was a fixture in Thorold and will be greatly missed.
It was my pleasure to have the privilege of knowing Donny for so many years.
Condolences to the Hartle clan from the Egerter clan.
Rest in peace Donny.
My deepest sympathy to your family. The most difficult is losing a family member 😢 💔 I’m with you all sending all my love 💓 and prayers 🙏 ❤
My deepest condolences to his family.
Growing up next door to Donny and his mother in Thorold South is something I will always remember. We didn’t have a fenced yard between our yards and he never cared that my sister, our friends or I would play on the swing set or run around the outside of house and shed playing tag or hide and seek. There were so many days Donny would come out and push us kids on the swings or take us for field rides on his tractor. He would cut our grass and not even think twice about offering a helping hand to anyone. He was always so helpful to everyone on our street and around the community. When I moved away and started my own family I would see Donny around Thorold and always stop and catch up. He would talk with my daughter and told her stories of when I was little and how he knew me and the family and the trouble us kids could get into lol. My daughter just loved the stories and how he laughed, she would say mom his laughs makes me happy and I have to laugh when he does it is contagious mom.
A few years passed and as I was coming around the corner on Front Street I ran into him we took a walk to Tim Hortons grabbed coffee and chatted about what we have been up to and how things were going and just had some good laughs. He seen my daughter and couldn’t believe how much she had grown and he got to meet my other daughter, he said I remember you at this age I can not believe I have known you you’re whole life and now I am meeting your children. He was definitely someone who had a place in my families heart. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
May you rest in peace.
condolences to Donny’s family, Donny was a great person and a very kind helpful human, surely will miss my chats with him, rest easy Donny..
So deeply saddened to hear about Donnys passing. He was such a kind and generous soul. Always took the time out of his day, when we crossed paths, to have a little chat with my kids and I, and offer help however he could. We could all take a page from his book of life, it would make the world a better place by far. The kids and I were lucky to call you our friend…r.i.p buddy! You will be sorely missed, and never forgotten! ❤️
Sending much love and peace to all family and friends of Donny!
My condolences to all the family. It is very difficult losing a brother. I trust his spirit will live on. You have another angel in heaven.

We’re going to miss you Donny. You always had a conversation about Thorold. We will keep your seat at Le Pasterie. Rest well.
I always liked seeing Donny walking around Thorold, I knew he was keeping the streets safe. It put a smile on my face. I was lucky enough to have a chat with Donny last Saturday at the pastry shop in Thorold. I was meeting my new boss for a coffee at the time and Donny came over to chat. I bragged to my new boss about Donny and how he always helped me at numerous community events I ran for the City. I didn’t know that would be the last conversation I would have with him. I’m so glad I got to see him and thank him.
Rest in Peace Donny, we will meet again.
So sad to hear of Donnie’s passing. I met him in Thorold South when I was managing the Avondale there and he was a daily visitor for himself and his mom. He always had a great story and I would see him walking to Thorold to do odd jobs and chat everywhere he went. You will be missed Donnie! Condolences to the entire Hartle family. You are in my prayers.
So sad to hear this news…Donny has been a fixture for us to see around town since we moved here almost ten years ago. So sweet and kind and always with a nice story to share. More than once he’d walk my daughter home if he felt it was too dark for her to walk alone…a very special soul for sure….RIP Donny…
Donny did so much for the whole Lucas family and will be so missed. Rip our friend so sorry for your family Loss

Sorry for your loss.
Donny was always such a gentle, helpful person. Always made a point to stop and chat if he saw you out no matter the weather. Many a time I would be coming home with my walker overloaded with bags and he’d give me a hand. Both my granddaughter and I will greatly miss him and his smiling face.
