In Loving Memory of
Donald Andrew Forrest

Obituary of Donald Andrew Forrest
After a long and courageous battle, Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 26, 2024 at the age of 78. He was a cherished and devoted husband of 53 years to Dianne. Loving father to his sons Christopher (Anna) and Jeffrey. Proud grandpa to Alexander, Elijah and Avery. Don will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Ken, brother-in-law John (Judy) Peatfield and his niece Brandi Marcy and her family. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Marion, his sister Barbara and his sister-in-law Peg Peatfield.Don dedicated 25 years to Bell Canada as a District Sales Manager. Following his retirement, his career continued at Robbinex as a Managing Director, where he had the pleasure of working alongside his son, Chris, for many years. Don approached every task with thorough research and unwavering passion, never considering anything "just a job." Don will be remembered for his love of golf. He could often be found out on the green, always challenging himself by playing different courses and constantly striving to improve his game. He even taught his grandchildren how to golf, passing on his passion for the sport to them. Don also enjoyed playing backgammon and chess, and took great joy in teaching these games to others. Don was so full of knowledge, and to be able to impart his wisdom to his sons and grandchildren was a source of great pride for him.
A man of many talents, Don was also a photographer and videographer, capturing many family memories over the years through his lens. He and Dianne were avid cruisers, often travelling to the Caribbean, where they were bound to return home having made a slew of new friends thanks to Don's friendly nature and big heart.
Don's larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and endless supply of jokes - especially his famed dad jokes - endeared him to everyone he met. His love for life was evident in everything he did, but nothing was more important to him than his family. Don spent countless hours playing board games, card games, and going to the movies with his grandkids, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their care and compassion. Also, special thanks to ParaMed for all of the support given over the years.
In keeping with Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Don was my first contact at Robbinex. When I first met him at the CPA CPE seminar, I instantly recognized a jovial & an easily relatable gentleman. Don was a fabulous golfer with a penchant for humour and deep interest in knowing people. Truly sorry knowing the world is so much poorer losing this wonderful gentleman. May his soul rest in peace.
Dianne, Chris and Jeff – Very sorry for the loss of Don. I can still hear his big laugh in this Cherry Hill community! I count him as a friend who always had a joke to tell – some of them were just corny Don – but the great thing was you laughing your big laugh at your own jokes. Thank you for the great memories Don. We will miss you.
Dear Dianne & family…remembering meeting Don & celebrating you both at your wedding almost 54 years ago, and then you celebrating with us 2 weeks later. Wishing you the comfort of many years of happy memories; may they bring you peace. Keeping you & all your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Diane and family;
As you say good bye to your beloved Don, we are keeping you and your family in caring thoughts, hoping peace and love surround you and wishing you comfort in the memories of all that you shared with someone who meant so much to you, your family and friends.
With deepest sympathies,
Laurie & Dave Long.
18th hole Champ! RIP
My heartfelt condolences to Don’s familty. I worked with Don at Robbinex for 10 years. Lovely memories of a man with great jokes, kindess and Granddad’s orange twist donuts at board meetings. It was a pleasure knowing him.
Don is one of a kind. Funny, engaging & passionate in all he came in contact with. I met his father, Russell many years ago & understood the golf legacy. I’ll miss my interactions with him every time he came to Golftown. A true gentleman who was a delight to know.
Don was a fabulous neighbour here at Cherry Hill. Much loved by all. He was an amazing golfer with a a great sense of humour. His laughter was extremely contagious and he will be dearly missed. If there’s a golf course in heaven, I know who the new head pro is. Rest in peace Don.
My condolences to Don’s family. I worked with Don at Bell Canada for many years, such an upbeat personality at all times. It was a pleasure knowing him.
My Condolences to Diane Chris and Jeff, Don and I enjoyed each others company, whether it was on the golf course or on the phone discussing golf and or computers. We met about 40 years ago in a computer shop. We became fast friends almost immediately.

Sincere condolences to Don’s family and friends. He was a very lovely man and always had a joke and a smile.
Growing up Don was like a second father to me and I’m going to miss him more than I can express with these few words. Truly one of the best.
