Obituary of Dian Helen MacIntyre
Dian Helen MacIntyre, affectionately known as Sweetie, passed away on June 4, 2024, in her 71st year. She was the third youngest of Norman and Mildred MacIntyre (née Fraser). Dian is survived by her siblings Fraser (Betty), Ruth (Doug) Park, Jean (Mick), Peter (Karin), and Bill (Marlene). She is predeceased by her brother Gordon (Pat).Dian spent her youth living and working at the family farm and Auction Sale Barn business in Woodville, Ontario, surrounded by the loving support of a close-knit family. She also worked at Lagoon City Resort in Brechin, Ontario. As a young woman, Dian had many boyfriends and loved to dance, enjoying the company of her many nieces and nephews, she also cherished the company of her good friend Sharon Stewart. Dian had a special bond with all of her nieces and nephews, with Jackie Park and Alexis Victor being especially dear to her as she cared for them when they were young children.
Dian later moved to Toronto and lived with Angelo Cashia and their black lab dog, Rocky, affectionately known as “her boy.” They enjoyed her camper at Balsam Lake, Kirkfield, during the summer months with regular family visits. After her separation from Angelo, she moved to Bloor West in Toronto, where she enjoyed the bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. When that became unaffordable, she moved to Crystal Beach, where her sister Jean was always close by.
In Crystal Beach, Dian enjoyed driving people to appointments and errands and caring for a special dog name Sasha. She also enjoyed her involvement with the Native Centre. While living in Crystal Beach, Dian adopted a kitten and named him Rocco.
Her neighbourhood bar, Exiles, was her go-to place to be with friends. In her final years, she lived in Port Colborne with her cat Rocco. There, she had some good friends, including Maria and Gord, who looked out for her through many physical challenges. Dian also had a favourite meeting place for friends at The Harbour.
In keeping with Dian's wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of Dian's life will be held in or around her home town of Woodville, Ontario at a later date.
Despite having a learning disability, Dian managed to live independently and on her own terms. She was loved and will be dearly missed.

My Deepest Condolence to all of Diana family
So sorry to hear about Dians passing. Dian was a great friend in my teenage years. We served many a hot dog to farmers, then danced the night away at Shalamar in Kirkfield. We played endless card games with grandma Fraser and bingo with Dians mom Mildred. She had great respect for Norman and never really got into trouble or at least he looked the other way when it came to Sweetie.
Even though I haven’t seen Dian in awhile, I think of her and the MacIntyre family that welcomed me into their home as I was growing up.
