Obituary of Denise Elizabeth Clark (née Gauthier)
In the early hours of Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:10 a.m., Denise took her final breath with her family by her side, exactly as she lived — deeply loved and never alone. She will be profoundly missed by her best friend and devoted husband of 51 years, Brian Clark, and by her cherished children, Terry Clark (Tracy) and Michelle Cayouette (Mike). Denise was a proud and adoring grandmother to her treasured grandchildren, Shane, Ethan, and Owen, who were truly the light of her life.Born to Rose and Sinai Gauthier, Denise is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Jean, Emery, Rene, Colette, Charlie, and Gertrude. She will be remembered by her surviving siblings Mary (Frank) and Ben (Sue), and by her sisters-in-law Eloise and Cathy (Dave), and her brother-in-law Bruce. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and cherished friends.
Denise lived a full, vibrant, and generous life — small in stature but mighty in spirit. She was known for her warm heart, her humor, and her tendency to say exactly what was on her mind. She welcomed everyone into her home, and once she met you, she believed the best of you. She was a fighter, yet gentle; supportive, yet strong; giving, yet humble. She was always thinking of others, always helping, always giving — whether it was a warm meal, a comforting smile, or simply her time and love.
A wonderful cook, a loving mother, and an extraordinary grandmother, Denise never missed a game, a race, or a moment to cheer on her grandchildren. She was there in the stands — at hockey and soccer games, cross-country races, and lacrosse matches — eyes filled with pride and heart bursting with love. Her grandchildren were her world, and she made sure they always knew it.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Scapular Catholic Church 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. If desired, donations in Denise’s memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Denise’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the lives she touched so deeply, and the family she cherished above all else. Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

To Michelle and family – I’m very sorry for your loss of your wonderful mother. May she live on in your hearts forever. Take her along with you throughout your life. I’m praying for you all.
I knew Denise because I came to live in the same apartment building. I remember her kindness when I had to be hospitalized after an accident. When I returned to my apartment, she would send meals up and check on me to see how I was doing. It was out of this experience, that we went on to become good friends. My deepest condolences to Brian, her two children and their partners as well as her cherished grandsons Shane, Ethan and Owen. To me there is no better way of honouring Denise than by following her example of generosity and compassion.
Deepest sympathies!! Thinking of you all during these difficult times. Denise was a very kind & caring lady. May she RIP & watch over her husband, kids & grandkids.
Sincere sympathy to Denise’s family. Michelle and my daughter Amanda attended Ontario Public School in the same grade. Denise was a friendly and kind person whose love of her family was clearly evident.
