Debbie and I were neighborhood friends during our teens and early twenties. We also worked together at Crown Drug Store in Carson, California. For various reasons we lost touch after the mid-1970s and only reconnected in the early 2000s. She took a chance by mailing a first class letter from St. Catharines Canada to my listed address in Long Beach, California. Bingo! I was the long lost friend. We were both more than elated. From that time we called and emailed back and forth but, unfortunately, never met up in person. We often talked of doing so but it never occurred. I did however host one of her sons on a trip to the Los Angeles area. A few years before Debbie’s passing we again lost touch. But, God granted me the opportunity to speak to her a few days before. At the end she could not communicate well but I let her know it was me calling and that I loved her very much. Words are difficult at such a time. I often think of her and those days back when. We had lots of laughter and caring as good friends could have. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end…. May your soul find peace until we meet again in the sweet by and by. Touch 💕✝️🙏🏻
Please accept my deep condolances. I will always hold fond memories of Debbie with her laughter and her wonderful cooking. She wore her heart on her sleeve. I will miss her.
