Obituary of Dawn Marie Hewitt

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our much loved, sweet and funny Dawn (née Girolametto) on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Dawn was the lifetime best friend and beloved wife of Wayne.

She will be missed by her mother Maureen, siblings; Rikki (Wade), Nicole, Dino (Rebecca) and Niki (Shawn), sister-in-law Diane and special cousins Lorrie (Mark), Terrie (Tony), and Meghan (Matt). Dawn was the very special aunt to several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dawn enjoyed a wonderful career as a hairdresser for more than three decades, and also spent several years in retail. She also loved her many fur babies and enjoyed cooking for those she loved. She will be deeply missed.

Dawn took on a challenging battle with cancer demonstrating great courage, strength and determination. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her husband and family at Hospice Niagara.

A special thanks to the care providers from Niagara LHIN including Jocelyn, Celena, and Diane, Dr. Courtney Manser and Dr Julie Wood, Daniella, Jayden and Frances at Hospice Niagara, who were all absolutely spectacular, and went above and beyond to provide kind and gentle care to Dawn and all of us.

In keeping with Dawn's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 17 at the Chippawa Volunteer Fire Fighters Association from 12 - 5 p.m. If desired, donations in Dawn's memory may be made to Hospice Niagara or the Humane Society of Greater Niagara.
