Obituary of David Murray Wiebe

On Sunday, September 8, 2024 God called his faithful and trusted servant, David Murray Wiebe to rejoice in his Kingdom. David passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the NHS-Niagara Falls Site at the age of 64. He has been reunited with his father Hank Wiebe (2019). David was the beloved husband to Tracy (née Patrick), devoted father to Brandon and Jillian, loving son to Wilma Wiebe (née Adams) and dear brother to Diane Moretton (Dan). David will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and anyone who was fortunate to know him.

David earned a degree in Business from Brock University, where he laid the foundation for a distinguished career. He began working in Inventory Control at a plant in Fort Erie before concluding his career at Henry Schein.

An avid reader of the Bible and a lifelong learner of history, he was deeply committed to his faith and dedicated many years of service as an Elder on various church boards. Despite being an introvert, he was known for his friendly demeanor, generous heart, and a talent for puns that could brighten anyone's day. In his leisure time, David found joy in the simpler things— watching classic comedies like the Three Stooges or Red Green; immersing himself in silly humor. His love for these shows was matched only by his love for helping those in need, reflecting his compassionate nature.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A time to comfort and support one another has been set aside on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls, ON. A private family funeral will be held in David's honor. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to One for Israel.

I just heard of David’s passing. As a past classmate at A N Myer in the mid 70s David was truly an introvert but a loving and kind one. Never a bad to say about anyone. My condolences to his sister Diane and all of David’s family and friends. May he rest in peace knowing he loved and was loved by all who knew him.

It’s been many years since we both attended Redeemer and served together on the board. Dave was witty and insightful. He served Jesus, his family and the congregation very well. My sincere condolences to the whole family.

Dave and i were friends back in… I can’t remember! It was probably around 1977, we knew each other from high school and Redeemer, and we did a few social things with other people.

We got along fine. We had a similar wry sense of humor… I think we found each other amusing. He would sometimes start a sentence and I would interrupt and finish it in a way that we both found funny. A few years back Dave and his family were at Redeemer we rekindled things for awhile . I am very happy that we had a nice chat a few months ago. I wanted advice on something, and he gave me excellent advice and I took it.

I was very surprised and saddened to hear of his passing, and , as always, I wish I had reached out more. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family now.
