Obituary of David "Dave" Frederick Young
With shattered hearts we announce the sudden passing of David "Dave" Young, just days after turning 58. His passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of his loving wife Shauna (née Comer) and daughter Haley. He was the adored son of Frederick and Pat (née Stewart), dear brother of Mike Young (Dawn Watson) and uncle to Ally. His presence will also be missed by his mother-in-law Bonnie Comer (Bob Keleher 2023), father-in-law Wayne Comer (Bonnie MacLean) and brother-in-law Derek Comer as well as many cousins and countless friends. Dave's love, laughter and friendship will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.A cherished member of his community, Dave was a vibrant, social spirit who touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness.
Born and raised in Chippawa, Dave was a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first. He kept himself busy with his passions, including boating down the Chippawa Crick, fishing, camping and soaking up the sun at the beach. A lifelong music lover, he found solace in strumming his electric or acoustic guitar and joy in listening to The Tragically Hip, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Rush, and even composed and played his own music. Dave had a zest for life that was evident in his many interests. He was a dedicated concert-goer in his younger days and had a fondness for vintage muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. His love for the Buffalo Bills was a testament to his spirited nature. Navy Island held a special place in his heart, serving as a backdrop for many cherished memories. Known for his infectious personality, Dave had a unique ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He believed there were no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet. His beloved dog, Jazz and cat, Gordie, were his constant companions, bringing him joy and comfort.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls.
