BRANIFF, Daryl Arthur (January 18, 1956- September 8, 2023)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daryl Arthur Braniff at Juravinski Hospital in the early morning of Friday, September 8, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents David and Mary Josephine Braniff (née Robson) and beloved son Adam. He was the loving father to David (Pam) and Brittainy (Ben), cherished grandfather to Emily and Jack, dear sibling to Philip (Judy) and Lynda (Wayne), caring uncle to Matthew, Marni and Laura, great uncle to Arwynn, Jensen, Reia and cousin to Patti, Sandra, Connie, and Jeff. He was a long time friend to Elsa Sauga and Barb Bench.

Daryl was an incredibly kind and social man. He enjoyed meeting new people through his work in real estate and while working on the ships in St. Lawrence Seaway. In his retirement, he started competing in long drive competitions across North America and in the Caribbean. He made many lifelong friends while competing in the World long drive championships. Daryl was an accomplished competitor, coach and enthusiast of all sports. He will be greatly missed by his fishing, bowling, darts and pool friends. His dearest wish was fulfilled in 2021 when he had the opportunity to walk his daughter Brittainy down the aisle on her wedding day. Daryl will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In accordance with Daryl's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. I am so sorry to hear of Daryl’s passing. My thoughts go out to the family and all that were lucky enough to know him. As my older cousin, he was always kind and friendly. Always smiling and up for fun, like his dear mother, my Aunt Jo. In his youth, his hockey career was a great source of pride for his parents and the extended family from memory. I will always remember his kind yet mischievous smile. Condolences and prayers.

Had the pleasure of knowing
Him for many years in St Kitts
And competed in school sports
Together Great guy I’m glad
I got to hook up with him back in January
When I was home for another funeral
We talked of the past and things we
Done as kids monkey Buissness wise
And what we had achieved in life
Was a moment of memories
He said his cancer had slowed
Him down and it was back
I was most impressed by his
Memory and how far back we recalled
Sorry for his loss. For he was more
A winner than a loser in life
Rest now my friend and set up the ball team
For when we that are left here
Are to join You My Dear friend
