Obituary of Daphne Goettler

Peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in her 95th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar. Daphne was a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered by her children, Lynn and Vaughn (Lauren); her grandchildren, Craig (Becky), Carolyn (Blake), Amanda (Alex), Myles (Stephanie), and Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Annabelle, Maxime, Grady, Alexis, and Emilia. She was a dear sister to the late Alan and Rosemary and is survived by Rita, Pat (Neville), and Pam.

Born in India into a military family, she was the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel William and Sarah Packham. As a young girl, she moved to London, England, and survived the Blitz. At the end of the war, Daphne travelled by a Lancaster and moved to Canada. She married her husband, Edgar, and professionally she held a special role in office management at Eaton’s. She will be remembered as a fierce and spunky woman who loved children, animals, a good story, and a nice glass of wine.

In accordance with Daphne’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be returned to nature by being scattered in water so she can continue to travel the world. In memory of Daphne, a memorial donation may be made to a local animal shelter.
