Obituary of Daniel Joseph Bauer
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel "Senior" Bauer on February 21, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 69, with his family by his side. Left to mourn this loss is his devoted wife of 50 years, Wendy (née Saccone), his loving children: Bob (Krista), Sheri (Jeff) Underhill and Daniel (Kristin), his grandchildren, who he adored: Ryan, Hunter, Brandon (Brooke), Breanna, Charlee and Grayson, his cherished brothers Doug "Mugsy" and Darren (Kim), his sister-in-law Marlene (Sid) Goodman as well as many extended family members. Daniel is predeceased by his parents Joe and Helen as well as his mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Gus.Senior was born and raised in Chippawa and was a lifelong resident of the village. He loved sports! He played baseball and football and was an amazing athlete. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. As he got older and became a Gramps he enjoyed watching and cheering on the little ones from the stands. Daniel worked at Oneida and then went on to enjoy a long career of 31 years at General Motors working the engines production line and was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 50. After retirement you could find him looking after his gardens and ponds. He was meticulous when it came to his lawn and cars. How sad I was to hear of Dan’s passing. I was a bridesmaid in Wendy and Dan’s wedding but moved from the Niagara area so visits were few and far between. It is at times like this you realize all the family gatherings missed. My heart goes out to all of the family left behind. Take some comfort from all the wonderful memories created.
My condolences to you Wendy and family
