In Loving Memory of

Daniel John Alexander

1951-2020

Obituary of Daniel John Alexander

In the early hours of Friday, August 21, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family, we said our final goodbyes to Daniel, at the age of 68. Loving husband to Patricia (nee De La Matter) for 48 years. Dan leaves fond and loving memories with his three daughters and their families: Dana and Brandon Ferro, Jennifer and Scott McGregor, and Kate Alexander. Dan was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren: Alex, Logan,Cameron, Maiya, Owen; all of whom he was very proud of. Dan will be dearly missed by his siblings: Susan, Robert (Sherry), Bill (Vera), and Allan (Paul).  Predeceased by his parents John and Isabel, and by his parents-in-law, Buster De La Matter, and Marilyn and Charlie Pauls. Dan had many family and friends in Canada, Scotland, and in the US, who will always miss and fondly remember him. After retiring from General Motors, Dan and Pat along with “man’s best friend” Kenzie, and then later Brinna, spent many wonderful days enjoying their cottage on Hay Bay. Many thanks to Saint Elizabeth and the staff who helped care and guide us through this difficult time. Thank you to ParaMed personal support workers and Dr. Fiona Halliday, for their compassionate care and support. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). An interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2pm. Memorial donations may be given to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation. Online condolences may be shared on Dan’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.

We were so sorry to hear of Danny’s passing and send our love and prayers to you Pat, and the girls, at this difficult time. And sorry that the present pandemic situation makes it difficult for families to grieve together. Hoping that in the future we will be able to get together.
Love Ron and Joanne Palangio.

So sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. We worked at GM and Dan was both a good tradesperson, and a great co-worker to be around. After retirement we would run in to each other at the credit union, the PAC catching a show or the coffee shop and he always had a smile and we would chat about family, dogs and missing the folks we worked with, but not so much the “job”. Dan was really proud of his family and that was something that always shone through in our chats. He will be missed by all and will be fondly remembered by his Westside co-workers.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.

Cousin Danny and myself had a very fun bond when I was growing up, we joked and tease one another, he sure is a loving and great man and pleasure of getting to know him and was part of the family, last time I seen him was when grandma(Lota Neumann) had passed, it was nice to see him due to my family circumstances And was able to hug him, once I heard the news my heart broke as well, a lot of our family had been threw a lot this year of 2020, I will miss cousin dearly… xoxo Rest In Peace cousin Danny!! Love my family!! I’m so sorry for my family!! ♥
