Obituary of Cynthia "Cyn" Harker

A remarkable woman of strength and independence, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Eventide Home, just shy of her 90th birthday. She now rejoins her beloved late husband, Dennis. Cynthia was born in South Africa on December 21, 1933, and her life was marked by a deep love for adventure and exploration.

Cyn was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Raymond (Ruth), Shirley-Anne (Aaron), and Michelle (Andrew). She was also a cherished Granny/Nannie to Gemma, Craig, Leanne, Daisy, Mimi, Dennis, Thia, Gigi, Thom, and Josh. Her love extended through generations, as she took on the role of Great Grannie to Jacob and Charlotte.

Throughout her life, Cynthia's boundless strength, fearlessness, and unwavering independence inspired her family. She was an icon in their eyes, a beacon of resilience that they aspired to emulate. Her wisdom and tenacity served as a guiding light for those who had the privilege of knowing her.Cynthia was a true adventurer at heart, and her passion for travel enriched her life with experiences from around the world. She shared her adventures, stories, and enthusiasm for exploring new horizons with her loved ones, instilling a sense of wanderlust in those who crossed her path.

Cyn's legacy extends beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many extended family members and friends. Her warm heart and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Niagara SPCA in her memory.
