Obituary of Corey Anne Gibson (nee McNutt)
In her home and surrounded by her loved ones, Corey died peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 65. She was the beloved wife of Scott for 37 years. Loving mother of Justin (Rikki) and proud Grandma of Bohdi and Willow. Corey is survived by her father-in-law Ron (Wendy) Gibson. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends especially the neighbours in Rockwood, all that she loved and cared for greatly. Corey was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Shirley McNutt, by her brother Wade, and mother-in-law Lorraine (Bill) Schaefer.Corey was known for being easy going and pleasant. Her favourite times were spent in the garden, which she really enjoyed, going on motorcycle rides with Scott or playing card games with her cousins and family. As a mom and grandma, she adored her son and grandchildren, they were the greatest joys in her life. She loved to watch them grow and kept active in their lives whether it was taking them to their sport games or looking after them.
A special thank you to the Brampton oncology team, Bayshore Nursing in Rockwood and St. Elizabeths for their support and commitment towards caring for Corey.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. So sorry to hear of Corey’s passing! She worked at KJ’s embroidery where I used to take my clients wearables to and met Corey there! We shared many laughs together and the odd beer at Howl at the Moon!.
May you find comfort in knowing that Corey is no longer in pain. I will miss her!

I hope the fond memories of happier times help carry the burden of these challenging times. This morning Jocelyn and I donated to the Canadian Cancer Society in Corey’s name.
Dear Scott, Justin, Rikki, Bohdi and Willow, may you find comfort in knowing Corey is no longer in pain. I will forever remember the weekends we spent together, the trip to California and the many lacrosse games we met up at. Better times. I trust she is with her brother Wade, and Shirley, playing cribbage. Rest in peace Corey. Love Nancy and family xo
